Let’s begin….

Let’s see… tracing back my family roots…

My actual name was Kelvin and I happened to be the eldest among my other two brothers, Timothy and Joel.

I was born in 1978 in Alexandra Hospital. My dad, Jimmy was then a regular with the Traffic Police and my mum, Anna then was a housewife. Both my parents were originally from Malaysia and life for them were difficult for their families were not well-off.

I don’t really know the details of their family background but what I do know is that my dad is the second youngest among 8 siblings and my mum is somewhere in the middle with also around 8 siblings.

My dad arrived in Singapore at the age of 16 after completing his education and subsequently joined the Singapore Traffic force. His father, which is my grandfather passed away when he was very young. What my dad always shared with me and my brothers was how he remembered when his dad would bring back durians as a family treat. And that was how my dad and his other siblings fell in love with the fruit. And till now, this tradition that my grandfather did has been passed on to my other uncles’ and auntie’s families.

My mum was actually raised up in an orphanage in Malacca. Apparently, the situation in her family wasn’t to good and in order to lighten the burden in the family, my mum was sent to this orphanage. Till now, my mum still hold this resentment in her heart towards my grandparents for sending her there as she feels unjust in why her other siblings were not sent but only her. That is why among her siblings, she’s the most ‘unique’ of them all as I noticed. As she was brought up seperately from her family, she didn’t had the ability to communicte in dialects that her sisters or brothers used. Guessed she must have really felt ‘unaccepted’.

A cool idea!

Mmmm…suddenly thought of a real cool idea for this blog!

I will blog my life story!

Yup! From my way back, way back kiddish days to where I am now… Something like an chronological autobiography like that! Anyway one of my lifetime goals has always been to write a book of my ‘colourful’ life so this could be a good start :)

So pai seh…

Early this morning after reaching Tampines from Clementi, I realised that my fly was opened thru’ out the train ride for the past hour!?!

Pai seh man……

Apparently my zip was spoilt and not that I forgot to zip before I left home… Aiyoh… no wonder there were some ‘funny’ looks from others while I was in the train.
